The summer institute will cover a variety of topics related to transition assessment and how to implement sound assessment practices. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about and view many types of formal and informal transition assessments. An extensive resource library including current transition assessment and other transition materials will be available.

Dr. Mary Morningstar Dr. Mary Morningstar will be presenting on the "Big Picture" for transition assessment as well as several other interactive sessions related to formal and informal transition assessments.
Dr. James Martin Dr. James Martin will be presenting about a transition assessment model that includes a new assessment in development, the Transition Success Assessment as well as on the topic of student-directed transition planning.
Dr. Gary Clark Dr. Gary Clark will be presenting on his long-standing and highly effective assessment, the Transition Planning Inventory (TPI).
Dr. Larry Kortering Dr. Larry Kortering will be presenting on the NSTTAC Transition Assessment Guide as well as on youth with disabilities and school completion.

The Transition Summer Institute is geared toward professionals and family members involved with secondary transition programs and services for students with disabilities. Participants from all over the country come together at the University of Kansas for one-week each summer to learn, collaborate, and rejuvenate in the area of secondary special education/transition. The Institute provides overview information for those new to transition services and provides updated information and research of effective practices in transition education and services.
